Thomas Jonathan Ossoff, also known as Jon Ossoff by several Georgian's, is a former candidate of Georgia's sixth district special election. A special election is needed when there is a vacancy in the office during a term due to impeachment, death or resignation. During this special election Ossoff raised money for his campaign collecting a total of 8.3 million dollars.
Bluestein appeals to logos to explain the facts of the fundraising comparing other candidates fundraising and where most of Ossoff’s money came from. For example, Bluestein says, “Ossoff’s financial disclosure, to be released Thursday, shows he has $2.1 million on hand for the final stretch of the campaign. His contributions came from across the nation, including more than $1 million raised by the liberal advocacy site the Daily Kos. Sure to raise eyebrows in Georgia, however, is the campaign’s revelation that 95 percent of all of Ossoff’s donors are from out of state (Paragraph 2).” Overall throughout the article the author seems to have a neutral tone or does not show his opinion on the topic but just states the facts about the fundraising. The authors purpose is to show how Jon Ossoff raised more money than the other candidates and how he had raised a staggering number of money. Bluestein organizes the article by stating the total fundraising amount then goes in depth on how much every other candidate got and explains further how he raised so much.
